California Car / Permit practice question · Road Signs
You approach a blue-and-white sign with the wheelchair symbol reading 'PARKING'. What does it tell you to do?
Answer choices
- You may not turn while the traffic signal is red.
- Come to a complete stop at the stop line or crosswalk, then proceed only when it is safe.
- You must not drive slower than this speed under normal conditions.
- Parking reserved for vehicles displaying a disability permit.— Correct answer
Why this is the answer
Disabled-person parking is reserved for a person with a disability, or someone driving one, who has a special placard or special license plate. The wheelchair symbol marks those spaces, and you should not park in the crosshatched area next to one. It does not govern turning on red, stopping, or minimum speed.
