Acceptance & service description

DMV Test Free is operated by L & L Partners LLC — "we", "us" and "our" in these Terms. By accessing and using DMV Test Free, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part, please do not use the service.

DMV Test Free is a free online study aid providing practice quizzes for DMV written-knowledge tests in a growing number of U.S. states (see our homepage for the states we currently cover). All questions are original and written from official state driver handbooks. Your ability to practice does not guarantee passing any official DMV test, nor does it provide legal advice about driving laws.

These Terms also apply to our PermitPilot app for iOS and Android, which provides the same DMV practice tests on mobile devices.

Not a government website

DMV Test Free is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any state Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), any U.S. state government, or any U.S. federal agency. We are an independent educational resource.

Information is provided for educational purposes only and is not official government guidance. Before scheduling your DMV test or relying on specific procedural information, verify all current requirements directly with your official state DMV, as laws and test formats change.

User accounts & acceptable use

You may practice without creating an account. If you choose to create an account using email sign-in, you agree to provide accurate information, keep your email secure, be responsible for all account activity, and notify us immediately of unauthorized access. You may delete your account at any time at https://www.dmv-test-free.com/delete-account, from inside the PermitPilot app, or by emailing support@dmv-test-free.com.

You agree not to impersonate others, submit false information, access the service for unlawful purposes, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with the service's functionality, or use automated tools to scrape or download content. Violation may result in account suspension or termination.

Affiliate links & partner offers

Some links on this site are affiliate or partner links, marked as sponsored. If you use one, we may earn a commission or referral fee at no cost to you. This never affects which practice questions we show you, how they are scored, or what we tell you is the correct answer.

When you click a partner link, we log which offer it was, the page and state you clicked it from, and your locale — an anonymous business record, not tied to your identity or email address, used only to see whether an offer is worth keeping.

Purchases, delivery & refunds

We sell an optional paid product: a printable PDF edition of a state's practice questions, explanations, and study guide for a given license class and year. You can buy it, and this section describes how it works. It is optional in every sense — all of its content is also published free on this site, so what you are buying is the printable format, not access to information we withhold from other visitors.

Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record, who is the seller for the transaction, handles payment and applicable sales tax or VAT, issues your receipt, and delivers the download. Your purchase contract for the transaction is with them; the content of the edition is ours. We never receive or store your payment-card details.

Each edition is dated and sold as a one-time purchase of that edition. Corrections we publish to an edition are free to anyone who bought it. A later annual edition is a separate product.

Because the file is delivered instantly, the buyer terms of our merchant of record — which you agree to when you complete your purchase — record your consent to delivery beginning immediately, and your acknowledgement that any statutory right of withdrawal or cooling-off period that would otherwise apply ends once your download has begun. That consent and acknowledgement are what EU and UK consumer law require before digital content is delivered instantly.

That concerns your statutory rights only, and our own refund policy is deliberately more generous than the law requires. We will refund any purchase within 14 days of the transaction, for any reason or for no reason at all — you do not have to explain yourself, and you do not have to have found anything wrong with the file. Email support@dmv-test-free.com from the address you bought with. Separately, if a file fails to download, is corrupted, or is materially not what was described, we will fix it or refund you whenever you tell us, including after those 14 days have passed. Refunds are issued through our merchant of record's process.

Intellectual property & disclaimers

All content on DMV Test Free, including quiz questions, explanations, and design materials, is original or licensed. You are granted a limited license for personal, non-commercial educational use only. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or republish our content for commercial purposes.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, accurate, up to date, or that it will result in passing any official DMV test.

Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DMV TEST FREE AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF SUCH POSSIBILITY.

In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid to use the service (which is zero if you have not made any payment). This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory on which the claim is based.

Indemnification, termination & governing law

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DMV Test Free, its owners, operators, employees, and service providers from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account or access to the service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason.

These Terms of Service shall be governed by the laws of the State of California and the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California.

Entire agreement & changes

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy and any other posted policies, constitute the entire agreement between you and DMV Test Free regarding your use of the service. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.

We may modify these Terms at any time by posting the updated version. Your continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
