California Car / Permit practice question · Right-of-Way
When you enter a roundabout (traffic circle), you must:
Answer choices
- Yield to traffic already in the circle— Correct answer
- Stop and wait for a green arrow
- Enter first because you are on the right
- Drive clockwise to your exit
Why this is the answer
In a roundabout you must slow down and yield to all traffic already in the circle, then enter heading right when there is a big enough gap. Traffic travels counterclockwise, so driving clockwise is wrong. You do not wait for a green arrow, and being on the right gives you no priority over cars already circulating.
